These programmes specifically focus on how we achieve cultural transformation across the ICS. Fundamental to our activity is providing a working environment that is psychologically safe and supportive of the range of needs we have as individuals, whether that be physical, psychological or emotional.

Summarised below are the programmes of activity, which we have been collaboratively undertaking in our system:

  • Autumn Inclusion School

  • Cultural education programme (Race)

  • Reverse mentoring

  • EDI Supporting Transformation Change challenge – to which, we are the only ICS signed up

  • Six recruitment high impact actions on the Workforce Race Equality Standard (WRES)

  • Leadership/coaching:

  • Development of system-wide talent pipeline

  • High Potential Scheme (HPS) – national pilot site, shaping national talent approach

  • Stepping Up – ethnic minority leadership development alumni

  • System-wide executive development programme

  • Launch of West Midlands Employers Coaching Network

  • CONNECTS – Integrated Care Partnership north leadership development pilot – (platinum and gold awards)

  • System-wide OD diagnostic review

  • Staff Psychological Wellbeing Hub

  • Regional enhanced wellbeing programme – evaluating the impact of existing staff support, identifying gaps/opportunities and scaling up best practice.

These programmes of activity contribute to providing a sense of belonging and increasing staff engagement. This supports the retention of our people and attracts new talent into the ICS, helping us to grow a broader, more diverse and inclusive leadership workforce. This in turns increases the quality of decision-making, innovation, and flexibility of how we best meet the needs of our local communities across Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent.
