Together We’re Better is proud to congratulate the many health and care staff and teams across Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent whose excellence has been recognised with awards success.
University Hospitals of North Midlands (UHNM) has scooped a coveted HSJ Partnership Award in the Facilities Management Supplier of the Year category, and the first Patients’ Choice Award from Bliss, the UK’s leading charity for babies born premature or sick, for its neonatal unit.
South Staffordshire and Shropshire Healthcare Trust (SSSFT) won the Simply the Best Award in the Best in Class category of the Patient Experience Network Awards. The Trust was also named runner-up in the Championing the Public category and was also recognised as a finalist in the Turning it Around category.
Congratulations also to Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent Partnership Trust (SSOTP), whose innovative Stoke Speaks Out project has been shortlisted in the 2018 Advancing Healthcare Awards UK in the Contributions to Public Health category. The same team has also been chosen as a finalist in the SLCN (Speech, Language and Communication Needs) Innovation of the Year Award at the 2018 Shine a Light Awards.
Meanwhile, a number of local NHS organisations have also been shortlisted in the HSJ Value Awards. UHNM has received nine nominations, while North Staffordshire Combined Healthcare has received four nominations. In addition, SSOTP and Burton Hospitals have each received one nomination.
As well as being shortlisted for a HSJ Value Award, both UHNM’s Mechanical Thrombectomy procedure and Older Adults’ Team have also been chosen as finalists in the BMJ Awards, taking place in May.
In addition, NSCHT’s High Volume User Service has been shortlisted in the Combined in the Mental Health and Learning Disabilities Category at the 2018 Patient Safety Awards.
