We’re delighted to announce that Dr Paddy Hannigan has been appointed as the new Senior Responsible Officer (SRO) for the programme.
Paddy, who also serves as Chair of Stafford and Surrounds Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG), takes over from Caroline Donovan. Caroline will be leaving her role as Chief Executive of North Staffordshire Combined Healthcare NHS Trust to take up a new opportunity as Chief Executive at Lancashire Care Foundation NHS Trust.
We would wish to thank Caroline for her guidance and support and wish her every success in her new role.
The programme is moving ahead with its plans to launch a digital shared care record across Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent, which will link NHS and local government organisations together.
Called Your Care Connected, the benefits of this new system include:
- Patients avoiding having to repeat information to different health and care professionals
- Patients avoiding having to undergo unnecessary duplication of tests – leading to fewer delays in receiving the right care
- Empowering patients to have greater control of their care by enabling them to view their patient record online
- Enabling health and care professionals to be able to access an individual’s record wherever they are based.
We’re currently in the procurement phase of this project, with the evaluation of responses due to get underway in late February.
At the last Digital Programme Board members agreed to proceed with a refresh of our Local Digital Roadmap. The viability of existing programme milestones will be reviewed, with a view to realigning them to the outcomes identified in the NHS Long Term Plan and Together We’re Better’s ambitions.
