Get Involved

In order to achieve the kind of lasting change we all want to see, it’s vital that everyone is given the opportunity to share their views – including you.

Your voice will help to shape our plans and we are committed to engaging with as many people as we can and to making it as convenient and straightforward as possible for you to get involved.

For more information about how we plan to engage with stakeholders, health and care staff and the wider public visit here. As we move into our pre-consultation phase, there will be a range of ways for you to get involved and we will share more information on this website.

Local Representatives

Local Representatives (formerly Feedback Ambassadors) are volunteer patient and community representatives who are passionate about delivering real change and improving health and care services for local people.

They are a vital conduit between the groups/organisations and communities they have links to and Together We’re Better – sharing information on the areas of TWB’s work that require significant transformation of our health and care system and feeding back any views, comments and ideas.

Members of this group come from all walks of life, including existing Patient Participation Groups, Healthwatch members, local community advocates, school governors and other roles.

Joining the Local Representative group is an opportunity to ensure the voice of colleagues, staff, personal networks and the local community you are part of is heard.

New members are always welcome and to get involved please email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. using the subject header ‘Local Representative’.

Other ways to get involved in local health and care services

Patient Participation Groups

We are committed to involving patients throughout our work. We will build a network of patient representatives that can act as critical friends, championing the patient voice at every stage of our journey.

We also encourage people to get involved in their local Patient Participation Group (PPG) – you can do this by talking to your local GP practice about joining the PPG, if they have one.

The six Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs) in Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent have more information about PPGs in their areas; the links below will take you to the relevant PPG page for each CCG:

Cannock Chase CCG

East Staffordshire CCG

North Staffordshire CCG

South East Staffordshire and Seisdon CCG

Stafford and Surrounds CCG

Stoke-on-Trent CCG

Local Equality Advisory Forum (LEAF)

LEAF is run by Staffordshire CCGs and includes representatives from across the Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent community and voluntary sector who are experts in supporting seldom heard groups. We are working closely with this forum to identify opportunities to engage and empower these groups to get involved.

Future of Local Health Services (North Staffordshire)

North Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs) are currently carrying out public consultation about proposed changes to local health services in Northern Staffordshire.

The consultation is about:

  • How community-based services can be delivered differently in a more integrated way, closer to home
  • How to make better use of community hospital rehabilitation beds
  • How to ensure consultant-led outpatients clinics work more efficiently and importantly, ensure consultants have more time with patients and less time travelling.

It is important to have your say: Your views will help to decide how to deliver services that may affect you, your family, your friends or people you care for.

You can find out more about the consulation via the dedicated website at www.healthservicesnorthstaffs.nhs.uk

The deadline to get involved is 17 March 2019.
