  • Walk-in vaccination clinics

     Walk in Clinic Web Banner

Looking for a walk-in clinic near you? You’re in the right place. Check out the table below for a quick overview. For full details including addresses and maps, visit the national Grab a jab walk-in finder

If you are visiting a walk-in clinic, no appointment is needed, just turn up to one of the below walk-in clinics, and present your vaccination card if you already had a 1st dose.

Alternatively, you can book an appointment by calling 119 or visiting the National Booking System.

Two doses of the COVID-19 vaccine give you the best protection from coronavirus.

Please note that all second doses are only available after 8+ weeks of your first vaccination, if you attend a walk in clinic before the 8 weeks, you will be turned away.

If you are 18+ you can now pre-book your booster dose online through the National Booking System, if it has been 2 months since your 2nd dose. You will be offered appointments from 3 months after the date of your 2nd dose. Please note that this is only for book appointments and not walk-in clinics.

Please be aware Walk-in and Pop-up COVID-19 vaccination clinics may be limited to an allocated number of vaccines. Vaccines will be given on a first come, first served basis. Clinics may close early if all allocated vaccine has been used.

Please check this page regularly as walk-in clinics may be cancelled on the day due to weather disruptions; it is important that we keep the public and our staff safe.

  • How to get a vaccine and where

The NHS will contact you when it's your turn to have the coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccination. You'll be contacted by letter, text or email with information on how to book your appointment. Alternatively, if eligible, you can visit a walk-in clinic, no appointment needed.

The vaccine is being offered at vaccination centres, walk-in clinics, pharmacies and some local NHS services such as hospitals or GP surgeries.

If you're invited to have your vaccination at a larger vaccination centre or at a pharmacy, you'll get a letter.

If you have received a letter but not booked an appointment you may get a phone call from the NHS Immunisation Management Service. This will be a reminder to book your COVID-19 vaccination appointments. The person you speak to will see if you need any help and support. They will not call you to book appointments over the phone.

If you have difficulties communicating or hearing, or are a British Sign Language (BSL) user, you can use textphone 18001 119 or the NHS 119 BSL interpreter service to book your appointment.

  • When attending your coronavirus vaccination appointment

Helpful information before attending your appointment

You can help your NHS by following the below guidance to reduce delays and ensure a positive experience when having your vaccination.

Arrive on time for your appointment – not too early or too late

When arriving for your appointment, it is important to join the queue at your appointment time.  If you arrive early, please remain in your vehicle until your appointment time. You will only cause delays if you join the queue too early.

When joining the queue or entering the centre please remember Hands, Face, Space. Continue to sanitise your hands, wear a face covering and always keep 2 metres apart from others.

    Important points to prepare

Before your appointment it is important to have your NHS number ready, follow this link to find out how to find your NHS number  and remove any outer garments when inside the building.

To help the process run smoothly, please wear clothing that allows easy access to your arm, this will help the vaccinators and will reduce queues.

  • Travelling to your COVID-19 Vaccination

The majority of patients, will not be vaccinated at their own GP surgery, but will be asked to go to a local vaccination centre – this may be a GP surgery or somewhere nearby that has been specially adapted to vaccinate large numbers of people.

All of the vaccination sites have car parking provision and are easily accessible via public transport.

Public transport information for Staffordshire & Stoke-on-Trent can be accessed here

    Staffordshire – Plan your journey

    Stoke-on-Trent – Plan your journey

If you do not have your own means of transport and cannot access public transport, please make the adviser aware when booking your vaccination appointment and they will be able to help you to. If you have any concerns about accessing transport to and from the vaccination site you should speak to the adviser at the time of booking who will be able to assist you.

Please do not delay in booking your vaccine appointment when invited, transport will be provided for all residents who need it.

You can book your appointment at local sites here

A free taxi shuttle service is being offered to Stoke-on-Trent residents who want to have the Covid-19 vaccination, but may have found it hard to get to a vaccination centre.

The new service will provide residents with a return trip from their homes direct to the city-wide vaccination programme.

The shuttle service is for residents living in the following areas of the city where the uptake of the Covid-19 vaccine to date has been lower:

    • Hanley & Etruria
    • Shelton & Joiners Square
    • Longport & Burslem Park
    • Florence (Normacot)
    • Tunstall
    • Cobridge & Central Forest Park
    • Bentilee & Ubberley
    • Boothen & Penkhull
    • Meir North

The move, which is part of Stoke-on-Trent City Council’s ongoing approach to reducing health inequality, aims to tackle any transport barriers that may stop people from taking up the vaccine.

The shuttle service begins today and will operate into the new year. The shuttle taxis can be booked by calling 01782 234234
